Goals, Scope, and Types of Department Activities
Goals of the department's activities:
- ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the Ministry of Health's Situational Crisis Center aimed at taking measures to prevent and eliminate the consequences of emergencies, potential nuclear or radiation accidents at all stages of the operation of the Belarusian NPP and NPPs of neighboring states.
Scope of the department's activities:
- coordinating and regulating mechanisms for preparedness and response to nuclear or radiation accidents.
- interacting and exchanging information between the MoH Situational Crisis Center and the situational crisis centers of ministries and agencies.
- developing documentation for the MoH Situational Crisis Center.
- studying current global experience in eliminating the consequences of various accidents and disasters and developing proposals for the implementation of the most promising practices.
- developing algorithms for cooperation between the Emergency Medical Service in emergencies and other relevant services and agencies, including those of neighboring states.
- developing scientifically grounded algorithms for actions in various emergencies (road accidents, fires, various accidents and disasters, etc.).
- participating in organizational support for the activities of the Emergency Situations Commission of the Authorized Body in organizing a set of measures aimed at ensuring the provision of medical care in emergencies.
- participating in ensuring readiness measures for response to events in the field of nuclear and radiation safety at the Belarusian NPP and NPPs of neighboring states.
- participating in the preparation of regulatory legal and other legal acts governing the work of the emergency medical service.
- providing organizational and methodological assistance in preparing healthcare organizations for action in emergencies of natural and man-made nature, in peacetime and wartime.
