Christmas (Catholic): December 25
Monday, 23 December 2024
December 25 is traditionally
celebrated in Belarus as Catholic Christmas — one
of the most important Christian holidays. On
this day, Catholics and representatives of other
Christian denominations using the
Gregorian calendar celebrate the birth of
Jesus Christ.
Solemn services are held in churches across the country. The central event
is the Christmas Mass, which begins on Christmas Eve, December 24,
and continues the next day. The main theme of holiday sermons is
the joy of the Savior's birth and a call for peace and love.
Since 1990, December 25 has been an official public holiday in Belarus. This provides
an opportunity for the country's residents to celebrate with family and attend services.
For many, this day becomes not only a religious event but also a symbol of kindness,
hope, and renewal. Christmas is a time for family warmth, joyful gatherings, and gift exchanges.
Merry Christmas! May peace, love, and prosperity fill every home!
