April 2 – Day of Unity of the Peoples of
Belarus and Russia – a Russian and
Belarusian holiday celebrated at the
state level.

The foundation of the unity of the peoples of the two countries was laid almost 25 years ago
in a key document for allied relations – the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State, signed
on December 8, 1999.

In accordance with this fundamental document, the Republic of Belarus and the Russian
Federation pursue a coordinated social policy aimed at uniting efforts in the interests of social
progress and creating the necessary conditions for a decent life for citizens.

For Belarusians and Russians, this holiday symbolizes unbreakable brotherhood, spiritual kinship, enduring centuries-old friendship, and successful strategic partnership.
