50 Years Safeguarding Health: RCOMR Celebrates Its Anniversary
Wednesday, 28 May 2025
In 2025, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the State Institution
“Republican Center for Medical Response Organization” – an essential part of the healthcare system of
the Republic of Belarus, which has been at the forefront
of organizing and developing emergency medical care in the country.
The institution’s history began on May 28, 1975, with the order No. 115 issued by the Ministry of
Health of the BSSR, "On the establishment of an independent air ambulance station." Since its
foundation, the main task of the institution has been to provide qualified consultative and
specialized medical assistance in the regions, involving leading specialists from medical
institutes and clinical bases of the country.
Throughout its history, the Center has undergone multiple transformations, expanding its
scope of tasks and adapting to modern demands:
• In 2001, the air ambulance station was renamed
State Institution "Air Ambulance Station".
• In 2004, it became the State Institution "Republican Center for Emergency Medical Care",
reflecting the expanded responsibilities assigned to the Center.
• Since 2019, according to Order No. 309 of the Ministry of Health, the institution has received
its current name and has become a key link in the emergency medical care coordination
system of the Republic of Belarus.
Since July 28, 2021, the Center has been headed by Dmitry Vasilyevich Alkhovik, under whose
leadership strategic development continues, mechanisms of interagency cooperation are
being improved, and modern emergency response formats are being implemented.
Today, RCOMR is a highly professional team that promptly responds to the challenges of our
time, possessing unique expertise in organizing medical assistance during emergencies,
including the use of air ambulance and mobile medical teams. RCOMR is a modern structure
that combines experience, professionalism, and dedication — qualities that have enabled its
staff to safeguard the nation's health for half a century.
We congratulate the Center's team on the anniversary and thank them for their contribution
to the health of the nation! We wish you continued success, steady development, and good health!
