State symbols

In accordance with Article 19 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the symbols of the Republic of Belarus as a sovereign state are its National Flag, National Emblem, and National Anthem. The Law of the Republic of Belarus of July 5, 2004, No. 301-Z "On the State Symbols of the Republic of Belarus" (as amended by the Law of the Republic of Belarus of February 7, 2023, No. 248-Z) defines the description and procedure for using the state symbols of the Republic of Belarus.

The National Flag of the Republic of Belarus is a rectangular panel consisting of two horizontally arranged colored stripes: the upper one is red, 2/3 of the flag's width, and the lower one is green, 1/3 of the flag's width. A vertical Belarusian national ornament in red on a white field is placed near the hoist, constituting 1/9 of the flag's length. The ratio of the flag's width to its length is 1:2. The flag is mounted on a pole (flagpole), which is painted in a golden (ochre) color. During ceremonies and other solemn events, the National Flag of the Republic of Belarus is used with a rhombus-shaped tip featuring an image of a five-pointed star, similar to its depiction on the National Emblem of the Republic of Belarus. The tips are made of yellow metal.

The National Emblem of the Republic of Belarus features the golden outline of the State Border of the Republic of Belarus, placed in a silver field and superimposed on the golden rays of the sun rising above the globe. A five-pointed red star is located at the top of the field.

The emblem is framed by a wreath of golden ears of corn, intertwined on the right with clover flowers and on the left with flax flowers. The wreath is interlaced three times on each side with a red-green ribbon. In the middle part of this ribbon, at the base of the National Emblem of the Republic of Belarus, the words "Рэспубліка Беларусь" (Republic of Belarus) are inscribed in gold in two lines.

The National Emblem of the Republic of Belarus may be reproduced in multicolor, two-color, and single-color (silver and gold) images.

The cases for using multicolor, two-color, and single-color (silver and gold) images of the National Emblem of the Republic of Belarus are determined by legislation.
